Think of them as casual shoes, not boots

I wore a try of Rockport Lakota boots a day for nearly 5 years, till they finally fell apart around my feet. i would have bought another try of Lakotas, too, however Rockport does not supply them anymore. The Northam appearance nearly precisely the same as my previous Lakotas, thus I ordered a try.
The first issue I noticed once I pulled them out of the box is that they are lightweights, and not in a very great way. every one of my previous Lakotas weighs regarding identical because the try of Northams. The Northams are undoubtedly not the rock-crushers i am used to; these are essentially skinny brown leather shoes fashioned to seem like hiking boots.

Update June thirty, 2011:
After sporting the Northams a day for 8+ months in an workplace setting, I've found them to be comfy however not terribly sturdy. Most of the tread on the soles has worn off already, and that i had a shoe lace break this morning as i used to be tying my shoes. I may get the Northams resoled and get new laces, or I may simply seek for a special try of trainers. i will most likely simply get a replacement try of trainers, and avoid Rockport within the future (which annoys me, as a result of they used to form very nice shoes).
